In order to play the notes with minimal movement of the left hand I suggest that you play the notes on the first ukuleles fret with your left hand index finger, the notes on the second fret with your middle finger and so on.

You can learn to play the Ukulele as soon as you learn the notes. You are probably better off to start with a four stringed instrument as it will be easier to learn the four notes instead of six.
